Kevin has over 35 years of experience litigating energy disputes. He has represented all parts of the oil and gas industry, including exploration and production companies, pipeline companies, and midstream companies. He has handled numerous royalty disputes (including class actions), ownership disputes, condemnation actions under the Natural Gas Act, encroachment cases, disputes over joint operating easements and numerous other matters. Kevin also has handled coal and electric industry disputes. Combined with his experience as the director of Pitt Law School’s Energy Law & Policy Institute, his teaching as Professor of Practice and a frequent speaker on energy law, he is in a unique position to serve as a consultant on litigation strategy and management or as an expert witness.
Mediation and ARBITRATION
Kevin has served as both a neutral and party appointed arbitrator in energy dispute and commercial disputes. Parties have commended him for his pragmatic and even-handed approach as an arbitrator. Kevin’s experience as an arbitrator, his experience as a trial lawyer in numerous arbitrations and mediations, and his experience as a Professor of Practice at Pitt Law School all combine to make him an ideal choice for arbitration and mediation matters.
